Winter Event

Description

When the cold winds blow, dragons stir. Syrillax is back for another year, but her brood continues to grow, and with it, the threat to Frozen Hope. The residents of Frozen Hope have opened their gates to all Arlorian heroes willing to take up arms against the dragons.

The Winter Event begins once per year in December, usually runs for 3 weeks with a 3 day cooldown. It is an Energy based Event, so it is advised to head out to the following zones: The Hauntlet, Mausoleum, Sunken Fleet to gather essence!

Energy Essence drops everywhere in the realm but the chances to loot are higher when fighting monsters at (or above) your level, and lower when fighting monsters below your level.

How to obtain Loot

Gather Essence from The Hauntlet, Mausoleum, or Sunken Fleet, craft it into Energy and head out to Mount Spyr (preferably while being carried by people who are Platinum Tier).

Use Luck in your Equipment Loadout, Companion, and Buffs to maximise your profits along the way towards Platinum Tier, you'll loot Zodias Crates used for crafting (see below), and if you're really lucky you'll loot an egg or two.

Once at Platinum Tier you'll have 6x Hunter's Elixirs which you can use to gain a better chance to find loot in the the Brooding Grounds (see below).

How to make Gold

Purchase Crafting slots for Platinum or create multiple Characters so you can maximise your crafting capacity, use the Zodias Crates you looted earlier & purchase the Mythic Recipe for the Massive Locked Crate, then craft them into Massive Locked Crates, keep them for a month or more then sell for a high amount, or sell them instantly for less.

Similarly, you may buy the chests now then sell them later on for a profit.

Purchase Jewel Chests or Currency Chests with the remainder of your Tokens, good luck! (Luck does not affect drop chances :D).

Grind 1,000+ kills in The Brooding Grounds. (see below)

The Brooding Grounds

Throughout the Winter Event, Syrillax's brood egg begins to stir and all Arlorian heroes must gather to defeat it before it gets out of control! The egg resides in the Brooding Grounds, which opens for 1 hour every 3 hours.

First off, add everyone you see going into the portal that is located to the North-East in Frozen Hope, next, favourite everyone who is running it, then join them for free runs (This has been patched), but you must be fast as people will quickly fill up the spots in the zone!

Use Luck here too, as the dragon will often drop Zodias Crates too, as well as Heroic Eggs.

Legend Combination is important here as the dragon can be quite hard to kill, so team up with friends and combine your procs and pet AA's to increase your DPS (E.g - Werewiger & Mephisto), unless you run into someone with a L81 Arcane Weapon, in which case, take a rest, the dragon is dead.

As always, you'll be able to use Platinum to purchase extra Energy Kits, Tokens, and the Holley Hunter's Elixir, but let's get to the good stuff.

Notes

- The 2022 Winter Event featured 3x 1 week Tiers instead of 1x 3 week tier, as well as a "Gift Tree" which gave us the following items once per day:

+ 50 Pet Experience Kit
+ 500 Spirit XP
+ 30 Minute Crafting Timer Speed-up. Christmas Day (12/25):

+ 100 Winter Event Tokens
+ 1 Pet Level-up Ticket (can be used on any pet to set them to your character level).
+ 2hr Crafting Timer Speed-up.
+ 5000 Spirit XP.
+ 20 Story Tokens.

- The Orb of Ursume is a special item purchasable only for Platinum that will help you along your way through mobs of frozen enemies and increasingly challenging bosses. Having the Orb in your inventory will reduce the critical rate of bosses by 6% and deal up to 50% more damage to monsters and bosses in the Mount Spyr Pass zone!

- The Orb of Ursume can be upgraded with a recipe that drops from Syrillax. The upgraded version of the orb works in the Brooding Grounds in addition to the original zone.

- Visit King Frost in Frozen Hope for the Rescue the Brewmaster quest, where you'll have to save Esai the Brewmaster from the Frozen Village! Once you do this quest you'll gain access to the "Warming Waters" Elixir from Rodrick the token vendor. This elixir reduces the freezing effects from Mount Spyr monsters.
